Earthquake insurance is a form of property insurance it is an additional policy to your Homeowners policy. In the case that an earthquake would occur and cause substantial damage to your home, Your Earthquake insurance policy would be there to bring you back to your original position (the position you were in before the earthquake occurred).

You may want this type of insurance if your state is infamous for have earthquakes that destroy homes. If you live by a fault line it would probably be a good idea to have Earthquake insurance.

It is only a matter of time till my rust bucket loses an essential part on the road.  I just hope I am not in a desert or stranded in the country hours from civilization.   What can we do to prevent this?   Well, if we have the ability to buy a new car that solves a lot of problems but if you are like me, it’s time to drive to a department store to get another role of duck tape.

Don’t Panic

“Oh, no! I am stuck on the side of the highway with no idea what to do!” Don’t panic even though it would be natural, don’t do it. Most people like getting out of their cars and inspect the damage this is dangerous. You could become a human like pancake, even with all the medical breakthroughs that we have. I have never seen the doctors be able to bring a pancake back to life. I am sure it would have made national news if it did happen. There’s the rain for your parade but get off the highway if possible and if not call someone to pick you up and be safe.

Being stuck in the hot, hot sun is never fun. The air conditioner may have died with the car. Make sure you have water in your car being dehydrated can cause serious health problems and you’ll be thirsty.

Car Maintenance

If you know there may be something wrong with your car, see if one of your friends can help you out. If none of your friends are mechanically inclined then go to your trusted mechanic for the needed repairs.

• 86 percent support enacting “Move Over” laws in all 50 states; and
• 90 percent believe traffic stops and roadside emergencies are dangerous for law enforcement and first responders.

A friend’s son was recently ticketed for this exact infraction. A police car was on the side of the road writing a ticket to someone else (turned out there were 2 police cars). He slowed down to pass but did not move into the other lane. The second police car immediately pulled him over and gave him a ticket. He had never heard of the law. It is a fairly new law that states if any emergency vehicle is on the side of the road, if you are able, you are to move into the far lane. If not, reduce your speed to 20 mph.

Accidents happen every day. Sometimes those accidents involve cars. But when should you involve the police? 4. Sometimes it is better to go through an agent because they might be able to help you determine the
coverage you actually need.

5. There are two types of agents that you can choose from, a captive agent or an independent agent. A
captive agent can only sell insurance from one company while an independent agent can sell insurance
from many companies and can often help in specific cases were a captive agent might not be able to do.

6. Just like a college text book you might not need it to pass the class but it definitely worth having when it
comes down to finals.
